The biggest insult is including Ryo from Shenmue. Shame on you SEGA!

Im not a big fan of xbox copying the playstation way of getting an achievement for getting all achievements considering how much of a fuck up Cars race o rama is... overall ok list was hoping for a more exciting list but meh :/

I like this list actually! If you have played Mario kart this is a Easy 1000!

Might be easy but could also turn out to be really hard (kinda reminded me at Sega Rallys list)

Clever use of names for achievements but not my cup of tea.

Well said #6......these achievemtns for getting all other achievements are really starting to grind my gear (pardon the pun) Especially when they're worth a load of points as well

MK Wii is a good game, but not one of the top MK games, IMHO. I prefer MK 64, MK DS, and Super MK, so this Sega kart game could prove to be a worthy rival this generation. Kinda like Diddy Kong Racing - percieved as a simple clone, but also a great game that introduced some new things to the genre (hoverboats, flying...).

This game could turn out to be quite fun. But in all the trailers i've seen - the graphics look really poor. The achievements look OK, there's some variation in there.

#11, samehere. the achievement for achievements is annoying, recently i playd cars:raceOrama and thats an achievement which is glitched, and unattainable...

goood clone, should be a decent game to relax too...

If it has 4 player splitscreen with Online Guest functionality, this could be a lot of fun. There are way too few games that support this, sad really.

I wouldn't actually buy it, but i'm looking forward to playing this when I get it in the rent, most kart games tend to be good fun, I loved the old Crash Bandicoot Kart game as well as Mario.

Looks fun but it will have to wait until it's the same price as Sega Tennis.

$4.99

See you boosters then. :)

Provided that 100g for unlocking all other achievements isn't glitched I'll be playing it. This game looks pretty good, I hate to say it... :/

why does sonic need a car?

why sega? why did you kill chromehounds for this game?

Looking forward to this regardless of what others think. Then again news posts are always filled with haters. Haters need hugs.

Looks like Sega Tennis, the description on the supposedly Platinum for PS3 is a lil bit off, should have said "Complete all objectives to unlock this" like the Tekken 6 one did.

Wow, why the hate on this game so much? I'm really looking forward to this game, not played a good kart racer in a while. Pretty good list too!

even if I had an interest in racing games, with BC2, FF 13, God of War, Heavy Rain and the Dragon Age expansion would take all my money anyway

Wednesday, February 03, 2010 @ 03:24:12 PM

@20: I am so tired of stupid people asking this question. It's a kart racer, therefore he uses a kart. Also, his all star move he turns into super sonic and flies around the track. What more do you want?

Anyways, nice achievement list, I don't really like the whole "gain all achievements" type achievements, but that doesn't stop me from playing the game(ex. Tales of Vesperia, Dragonball: Raging Blast)

@27 "could they make a have decent sonic game." Do I even need to say anything? Anyways, I'm assuming the secret ones are for unlocking secret characters. This list seems simple enough, and no where near as hard as Sega Tennis. After all, it's only one AAA, not AAA on every single event.

i love kart racing style games and this seems to be the only one available for the 360. the achievements look like a fun list with a good mix so might give this a try. if the put a demo up 1st will b even better :)

Wednesday, February 03, 2010 @ 07:09:06 PM

Well, I did the AAA for everything on Superstars Tennis, this looks to be the same thing. Otherwise, it looks to be as good an achievement list as you'll get, with achievements for completion and many special events. Online achievements... meh but doesn't look like they can't be boosted for or won naturally. I like the references to their past games. I'll pick this game up... eventually.

I don't get people who hate sega for games like this. It's a childrens party game which I would excpect a company like Sega to make, since that's what they have always excelled at.

It's when they make horrible/unplayable Sonic games you should be complaining.

I'll pass on this for now and get it when it's down to £6, same price I got Sonic Tennis for. Right now, I'll save my money for Alien vs Predator.

Keep taunting us with Shenmue Sega and i'll will have to punch an oriental child!
And by the way does anyone else think that Sega is a lil' late to the kart racing party? I mean Mario Kart 64 was like in '96 i think and gee the Dreamcast was out in the late 90's. Oh well :D

Whoever is irked that Sonic is driving a car in this obviously hasn't played the Sonic Drift games. Or the Twinkle Circuit level of Sonic Adventure.

Or maybe they thought Sonic R was fun. I dunno.

Myself, I'd at least like to rent this, if not buy it. If Sega ever makes a Panzer Dragoon dragon playable in it, I'm SOLD, though the presence of Ryo Hazuki, Opa-Opa, and possibly Gilius Thunderhead already has me highly intrigued.

If Sonic is so fast,
1) Why does he need a car? What, can he just not be asked to run anymore?

2) Why do SEGA think anyone would challange him to a race?

I just played the demo last night and I must say I'm hooked. I played the demo for maybe an hour and it only has one track. Just the nostalgic value of a mario kart-esque game with music from Sonic Adventure just was amazing. I will be picking this up day 1! =) Hopefully see some of you online!

Played the demo and wonder why is Sonic the slowest one and Banjo & Kazoie the fastest?

Tuesday, February 09, 2010 @ 01:46:03 PM

Reading so many comments, Jesus Christ people, play the demo first before you says it's shitty because it has Sonic in it.

The demo is amazing and so will the game. Sega has never had a bad arcade style racing game, which this is like. It's Mario Kart, Crash Team Racing and Diddy Kong Racing with a combo of old school Sega arcade racing.

@48 It has always been in Kart games that the heavyweight characters have higher max speed and the light weight characters have better acceleration and/or handling.

Think this games price will fall prett fast. Think I'll pick it up after a price drop.

Anyone else thought the demo was pretty hard for a game of this kind. Tried a few times but couldn't win a race 1st place.

@50
The demo is set to Advanced difficulty by default, on the track list menu press Y button to bring up the options screen and you can change the difficulty from Beginner, Advanced and Expert.

Also for anyone else who doesnt know(I've seen many YouTube play-throughs) you can perform stunts in the air to get boosts by pressing LB/LT and you can drift round turns with the LT button to gain boosts too. Length of boost depends on how long you hold a drift and for air stuns how many stunts you perform before you land.

As much as I absolutely hate everything sonic, I tried out the demo of this because it had Banjo-Kazooie in it. Turns out it was really fun, and that is shocking in its self.

Downloadable content - achievements or no achievements - will you buy it with or without them?
If the content is good, or for a game I love, I'll buy it regardless of whether chievos are included
I'll still buy and play the downloadable content, but achievements would be nice.
Who the hell cares!?
No achievements, no sale ... and that goes for any game ... whether you're GTA or Halo!
Just stop with the DLC achievements full stop ... you're ruining my completion percentage dammit!
