"Far-reaching" plans for Mass Effect 2 in 2011 Written Monday, February 08, 2010 by Richard Walker According to an EA spokesperson on today's earning call, something "far-reaching" will be coming for Mass Effect 2 in Q4 of EA's fiscal 2010, which falls somewhere between January 1st and March 31st 2011. When quizzed on the viability of the news by Joystiq, EA spokesperson Jeff Brown replied by stating, "Both Dragon Age and Mass Effect are referenced in the FY11 SKU plan. That's all I can tell you for now." Exactly what the plans are for Mass Effect 2 or indeed forthcoming expansions and (highly unlikely) a sequel, is anyone's guess right now though, so why not use the comments section to list your wildest speculations? Mass Effect 3 (2011): The third game in the series is planned for a release date sometime between 2011-2012. Casey Hudson commented that Mass Effect 3 "will be easier because we don't have to worry about continuity into the next one." This meant that the release would be earlier. January 2011 is when it is to be expected. However, decisions will still be imported from Mass Effect 2 to Mass Effect 3, as to keep continuity within the series. Casey also said in a interview at the Consumer Electronics Show that BioWare is already at work on Mass Effect 3. |
